Northstone Materials Win Environmental Award

Northstone Materials was successful at the recent national Mineral Product Association (MPA) Health and Safety Best Practice Awards in the Contractors Safety section for the development and use of the "Guardian Goal Post" system. This system provides an easily erected and effective warning of the existence of overhead electricity lines on contract sites.
The award, "The EPIC Trophy" was presented to Northstone by Lord Jordan of Bournville, CBE, President of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and accepted by Angus Kennedy at the awards ceremony held in London on Tuesday 06 October 2009 at the Institution of Civil Engineers.
The top category award citation reads, "In recognition of Northstone's outstanding achievements in the MPA Contractors Safety section of the 2009 Health & Safety Best Practice Awards for the development and use of their "Guardian Goal Post" system".
