Father and Son Connections
Northstone as an employer has reaped great success through its strong links with its employees families, with many family members following parents or siblings into the Industry. This year has been no exception when the road contracting division welcomed Ryan Watton and Graham Anderson to Northstone Materials team.
In July Ryan Watton joined his father’s (Terence Watton) blacktop surfacing squad in the Northern Region as a labourer, having previously worked in the dairy industry. Terence is an experienced and accomplished Foreman who joined the Company in 1991 and has worked in a large number of major sites across the province. Terence other son, Terence Jr, had also worked within his squad before his passing in 2014.
In October Graham Anderson also joined his father’s (Trevor Anderson) blacktop surfacing squad in the Eastern Region in the role of Trainee Spreader Driver. Graham comes from a Mechanical Engineering background. His father Trevor Anderson also a talented Foreman is one of Northstone Materials longest serving employees with 44 years’ service, having joined the business at the age of 15.
